Navy Ships

Bureau Veritas is well aware of the unique operational expectations of naval ships and the elevated risk levels they face in their duties.

The specific needs from navies around the world are constantly changing. Whether because of policing exclusive economic zones or because of tight defense budgets, there is a global trend to make ships more flexible and cost-effective

As a result, demand is growing for warships that are designed for a reduced crew size and lower maintenance needs. Still, vessels must comply with international rules and standards.

Bureau Veritas can help you improve safety and maximize the benefits from classifying your vessels.

Bureau Veritas offers a wide range of solutions:

Why choose Bureau Veritas?

  • A fully up-to-date and stand alone set of rules for naval vessels

Bureau Veritas' rules for naval vessels were developed in 2000 following a major research and development project that took the accumulated knowledge of ship and merchant vessel construction from around  the world and adapted it to the special needs of navy ships.

They were fully revised in 2006. Bureau Veritas has a high level committee with representatives from navies and warship builders who help ensure the rules are kept up to date and meet needs from both sides.

Our rules also ensure the delivery of cost-effective, safe, clean and functional navy ships.
