Hello, as the Bureau Veritas Compliance Officer I am responsible for the implementation of the group's Compliance Program and would like to say a few words about ethics and compliance within the Bureau Veritas Group.

1. Bureau Veritas Values

For many generations now, impartiality, truth, equity and vigilance have formed part of the core values of Bureau Veritas and have been central to its worldwide development. These values are a major unifying factor within Bureau Veritas and help promote profitable growth.

2. Ethical conduct: a daily preoccupation

Indeed, the most important asset of Bureau Veritas is its reputation as an impartial and independent service provider. For that reason, ethical conduct in the performance of our duties must be a daily preoccupation of each and every Bureau Veritas employee. And our clients and professional associations examine our ethical rules and procedures to verify that all Bureau Veritas employees, and its subcontractors, suppliers and agents understand these core values and rules to be followed and understand their importance.

3. E-Learning module

That is why we have set forth in the Code of Ethics and the Manual of Policies and Procedures, the core values of Bureau Veritas and the rules and procedures which all Bureau Veritas employees must follow. And to make sure all employees understand them and their importance, the Code of Ethics is available in over 20 languages and each employee must complete a Code of ethics training program through an e-learning module available on our intranet or through in-class sessions.

4. Managers’ involvement

In addition, all Bureau Veritas employees can rely on their managers to answer their questions and offer them guidance in connection with any ethical issues they may have and express, and can also rely on the Bureau Veritas Ethics Committee members which are Frank Piedelièvre our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Francois Tardan, our Chief Financial Officer, and myself.

5. Practicing what we preach!

At Bureau Veritas, we count on our employees to apply our Code of ethics at all times as we believe that it is only by sharing and applying the same values and understanding of the importance of ethics and compliance, that we can offer our best quality of service to our clients.
