Chemical Discharge Management Services

A Proactive Approach to eradicating hazardous chemicals discharge (ZDHC)

Business Challenge

In today’s consumer marketplace being “green and ethical" are no longer options but a necessity. NGO pressures such as China’s Institute of Public & Environmental Affairs and Greenpeace’s Detox Campaign are driving change in the supply chain. One such outcome is the Forum for Zero Discharge of Hazradous Chemicals.

What is Greenpeace’s Detox Campaign?
Since July 2011, the Detox campaign by Greenpeace proposes the direct link among global apparel brands, their suppliers and global phenomenon of toxic water pollution with the consumers as unwitting accomplice. Within Greenpeace’s campaign logo of Detox, the alphabet “x" is replaced by a Chinese character “水" which is water in English, symbolizing the concern on water pollution. Greenpeace is campaigning to stop industry poisoning waterways around the world with hazardous, persistent and hormone-disrupting chemicals. The campaign continues to secure public commitments from many international brands toward zero-discharge of hazardous chemicals (ZDHC).

Forum for Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals
Many leading international brands have formed an industry forum committing to eradicate hazardous chemicals discharge by 2020. Their commitments are highlighted below.
