BIVAC North America is pleased to announce that the company has been accepted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to participate in the C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) validation pilot program for the People’s Republic of China.
By effect of the "Security and Accountability For Every Port Act of 2006" or "Safe Port Act" signed by the President of the USA on October 13, 2006, BIVAC North America (a company of Bureau Veritas Group) has been accepted by CBP as a "C-TPAT Third Party Validator" to provide security audits and inspection services on behalf of CBP for Supply Chains located in China.
This program is operated on a voluntary participation basis for a one year session.
BIVAC North America has a sister company, BIVAC Asian Inspection Co., which is fully accredited by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ).
More and more security is becoming a major priority for governments and companies around the world. C-TPAT partners are working cooperatively with CBP to secure the supply chain from illegal devices. In exchange, CBP provides reduced inspections at the port of arrival, expedited processing at the border and other significant benefits.
BIVAC North America is committed to reducing the risk inherent in international trade operations, as well as assisting companies to meet the supply chain security requirements that protect the borders from illegal or other activities. The company offers consulting services to assess supply chain network and cargo security protocols in an effort to meet the standards set by US CBP, AEO (Authorised Economic Operators) and BASC (Business Alliance for Secure Commerce).
Naturally, BIVAC North America proposes inspections, audits and assessments following the criteria set by US CBP C-TPAT guidelines.
With more than 20 years in the inspection, testing and certification of cargo in pre-shipment inspection programs and supply chain security, BIVAC North America is able to assist international trade operators as regards the C-TPAT process. BIVAC North America is supported by Bureau Veritas Group: over 26,000 employees (and particularly 4,800 in China) in 700 offices and laboratories worldwide.
