AMHERST, NY – August 14, 2008:  Richard Rosati, Bureau Veritas Director of Toys and Juvenile Products, Americas, has recently been appointed to two national organizational positions related to consumer products and safety.  The first of the two, the Juvenile Products Manufacturing Association (JPMA). elected Mr. Rosati to its Board of Directors.  JPMA is a national trade organization of more than 300 companies in the United States, Canada and Mexico and is focused on juvenile products.  JPMA advances the interests of manufacturers, importers and distributors of juvenile goods while advocating for safer products to consumers through advocacy and performance certification.

The second organization, ASTM, has appointed Mr Rosati to the executive subcommittee of Committee F15 on Consumer Products.  ASTM is one of the world’s largest standards development organizations, representing producers, users, consumers and representatives of academia and government who have an interest in developing voluntary technical standards in a wide range of applications.  As a member of the executive subcommittee, Mr. Rosati will provide leadership and direction to the main committee in areas such as review of standards, strategic planning, government interface, international activities and liaison with other technical committees and outside organizations.

Mr. Rosati has been with Bureau Veritas for nine years and has held a number of positions starting with Toy Testing Engineer.  He is currently Director, Toys & Juvenile Products for the Americas.  He holds a Bachelors degree in Industrial Technology from Buffalo State College and an MBA from St. Bonaventure University.
