CPSC issues revised Final Rule for 16 CFR 1130, Requirements for Consumer Registration of Durable Infant or Toddler Products

On February 17, 2012, the revised Final Rule for 16 CFR 1130, Requirements for Consumer Registration of Durable Infant or Toddler Products was published in the Federal Register.

The amendment addresses interpretation issues with the original Final Rule that became effective in 2010. The changes were reported in a Bureau Veritas Bulletin released in August 2011. Not previously included in the Bulletin was the acceptance of a bar code on the registration code at a manufacturer’s discretion.

The effective date for the revised Final Rule has been set at February 17, 2013.
