New York (US) proposes legislation banning BPA from canned foods

This bill proposes that beginning December 1, 2012, no person, firm, partnership, association, limited liability company or corporation shall sell or offer for sale any canned food item that has been prepared and is intended for human consumption containing bisphenol A.
European Commission proposes legislation prohibiting lead in jewelry products

The draft proposes to prohibit the use of lead and its compounds in jewellery and imitation jewellery articles and hair accessories and the placing on the market of such articles, if the lead concentration is equal to or greater than 0.05% by weight of any individual part of the article.

Sao Paulo, Brazil proposes legislation regarding labeling of coffee products

Bill 2/2012 would require the placement of a percentage of coffee species in the product, roasting degree and other information on coffee packaging. This label would be required for all roasting and grinding coffee products sold in São Paulo.
