A certification program, such as the Bureau Veritas c-mark, can lead to increased consumer confidence and demonstrate your commitment to protecting the public and environment from hazardous substances. Certification for the c-mark is based on the testing of products and/or components for specific hazardous substances. Testing requirements are customized for the materials used.  Ideally, testing should be conducted on both the raw materials and the finished product. Testing on raw materials helps to minimize the risk of your finished product containing potentially harmful substances.

By participating in the c-mark certification program, you demonstrate that you are taking extra steps and care in testing for potentially harmful substances.  Your product can be clearly labeled with the c-mark displaying that it meets the requirements of the certification program.  You can select from the following c-mark certification programs:
• The black ‘c-mark’ covers basic restricted substances.
• The advanced red ‘c-mark’ covers additional restricted substances and  eco-requirements.
