Canada proposes legislation prohibiting chemical pesticides for home use

The purpose of this enactment is to place a moratorium on the use of chemical pesticides in the home and garden, on recreational facilities such as parks and golf courses, until scientific and medical evidence showing that such use is safe has been presented to Parliament and confirmed in a report prepared by a parliamentary committee.

Minnesota (US) proposes legislation requiring manufacturers to report when children's products contain priority chemicals

This bill proposes that by January 1, 2013, a manufacturer or distributor of a children's product offered for sale in the state that contains a priority chemical must, unless the children's product is not subject to regulation under section 116.9405, provide specific information to the agency on a form.
South Africa announces new mandatory standard for cord sets
