BUSINESS CHALLENGE
Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. was ISO 9001 certified by Bureau Veritas Certification in 1997.
Since its spin-off from Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP) in 2007, Broadridge has continued to expand its operational excellence and security initiatives globally.
In 2008, Broadridge sought to gain ISO 27001 certification and chose to partner again with Bureau Veritas Certification, both for its expertise in achieving such certifications as well as its global presence.
SOLUTION
The ISO 27001 Information Security Management framework has helped to build the robust information security program now in place at Broadridge.
With the help of Bureau Veritas Certification, Broadridge obtained outside confirmation of its ISO 27001 initiatives.
Thus far, about 75 percent of the company has been certified.
Broadridge’s long-term goal is to achieve ISO 27001 certification for the entire company, including additional businesses and facilities acquired by Broadridge in the last three years.
BENEFITS
In the U.S., there are only about 80 companies certified to ISO 27001 and Broadridge is one of them. Broadridge’s security programs are a significant differentiator in the marketplace and are an integral part of the service it provides to its clients.
Standardization gained from certification has brought down contractual prices and times for contracting, another added value from a marketing standpoint.
