Hilton International - Meeting Hilton's high standards
In terms of the quality of engineers, I’m very satisfied. Bureau Veritas understands that there are not only human lives and assets at stake, but also the Hilton name.
BUSINESS CHALLENGE
Hilton International has 76 hotels in the UK and Ireland,
as well as a chain of 26 LivingWell health clubs, with four more
currently under construction. The hotel group employs a dedicated safety
team of seven people to manage the safety and security of its wide
portfolio of properties.
To preserve its reputation and high client satisfaction, Hilton wants to maintain its high health, quality and safety standards.
SOLUTION
For a number of years,
Hilton has chosen Bureau Veritas to provide a full range of Quality,
Health and Safety (QHS) services it needs to meet statutory
requirements. This involves working with two previously distinct
entities of Bureau Veritas, Plant Safety and Regspec, which are now
fully integrated in the Bureau Veritas Group.
Bureau
Veritas teams perform statutory inspections of all kinds of equipment
from boilers, air receivers and lifts to local exhaust ventilation.
Hilton
has also relied on Bureau Veritas for its electrical testing and
inspection requirements of portable appliances and fixed wiring
inspection – from computers and kettles to the electrical infrastructure
of a building.
The
Hilton team appreciates the level of technical knowledge of Bureau
Veritas engineers. They also value having access to the BVnet reporting
system. Using this online tool, they can pull off relevant reports and
e-mail them to the relevant people to perform repair tasks or
maintenance requirements, thus saving time and lifting efficiency.
Training
has been provided to Hilton’s Health and Safety managers to outline
what inspections are required for statutory compliance, helping them to
prioritize and avoid unnecessary use of resources.
BENEFITS
Good communication
characterizes the successful working relationship between Bureau Veritas
and Hilton International, resulting in high client satisfaction.
Urgent
issues identified by Bureau Veritas engineers are now reported
simultaneously to two different layers of the Hilton organization, and
this multiple reporting system acts as a vital safety net.
Hilton
considers QHS management by Bureau Veritas to be efficient and highly
reactive. By leveraging the large service portfolio of Bureau Veritas,
Hilton benefits from the time- and cost-efficiencies of dealing with a
single supplier.
