Information seminars on the implementation of the Zambian PVoC in South Africa - 18/19/20 April 2011

Bureau Veritas organizes information seminars on the implementation of the Zambian Pre-export Verification of Conformity Programme in South Africa - 18/19/20 April 2011.

On 1 May 2011, the Government of Zambia will launch officially its Verification of Conformity Programme applicable to goods exported to Zambia.
Information Roadshow in South Africa on April 18/19/20, 2011 - Free of charge.

The majority of imports into the country will have to be inspected prior to arriving in the country.
Bureau Veritas has been appointed by the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) to implement the Verification of Conformity Programme. This programme will be applicable to the following products exported to Zambia:

1.   Toys, sport  Equipment & Childcare products  
2.   Electrical and Electronic products   
3.   Vehicles parts  
4.   Chemical products 
5.   Mechanical products & Building Materials 
6.   Gas Equipment and Appliances
7.   Textile products & Footwear
8.   Furniture (wood & metal articles)
9.   Paper & Stationary
10. Safety (personal protective) Equipment
11. Food & Food products
12. Used products

We invite all the trade community (importers/exporters) to consult our website where the detailed list of products, the PVoC fees, and the list of Bureau Veritas contacts outside Zambia, are presented.

A preliminary Awareness campaign  will be held in Zambia and in all major exporting countries in order to present the main benefits of this PVoC scheme, the new import legislation and the technical procedures particularly the three Routes of Verification:
"Route A" - Applicable to any goods and any trader
"Route B" - Option for frequent traders of goods that have been registered by Bureau Veritas
"Route C" - Option for frequent traders of goods that have been licensed by Bureau Veritas

Bureau Veritas is organizing a Roadshow in April in South Africa in association with the Zambia Bureau of Standards under the patronage of the French South African Chamber of Commerce & Industry. This major event will take place as follow:
