Discover Bureau Veritas' entities rewarded for their actions for the World Environmental Day

In order to strengthen continuously its Environmental Commitment, Bureau Veritas has celebrated for the fourth consecutive year the World Environment Day on June 5, 2012. This event focused on the theme selected by the United Nations: "Green Economy: does it include you?" Green Economy is defined as low carbon and resource efficient.

The actions conducted by more than 65 entities of the Group are very diversified and were conducted jointly by all the divisions. Examples of these actions are: energy consumption awareness and waste reductions, second-hand good donations for local charities, cleaning and waste segregation of natural sites such as beaches or mountains, distribution of reusable shopping bags, tree plantations, etc. The Consumer Product Service has also largely contributed to this event in all locations!
In addition, thanks to the participation of the sales and marketing teams, clients and subcontractors have been involved in workshops to share good environmental practices, green tools, and technical knowledge about environmental concerns… in order to become "greener".

Based on specific criteria, Bureau Veritas has rewarded the 4 internally best actions taken within the Group in relation with this event: "Green Economy", "Creativity" and "Education", and a special prize.

An internal jury met to evaluate these actions and four awards have been handled to the most significant initiatives:
- Kazakhstan team, Industry & Facilities Division: Education award,
- Abu Dhabi team, Industry & Facilities Division : Creativity award,
- Poland team, Industry & Facilities, Marine, Government Services & International Trade and Consumer Product Service Divisions: Green Economy award.
- South East Asia Team, Industry & Facilities, Marine, Government Services and International Trade Divisions: Special Recognition Award.
