| BUREAU VERITAS SPONSORSHIP |
Supporting a project led by one of its employees
"Masaï" is Stéphane Le Diraison's sailing baot. Bureau Veritas accepted to support such project for 3 main reasons.
- First, he is a young engineer/naval architect working for the Group as a Marine Hull Surveyor. His main tasks are to examine ship plans, carry out complex calculations of ship structures and assess the safety and solidity of the ship construction plans proposed by the shipyards. In his free time, sailing is his very first passion in which he proved successful performance.
- Secondly, all the businesses and employees of the Group can feel part of the project. Obviously, for our Marine business, specializing in conformity assessment of ships. But also for our experts and engineers in the Industry sector as facilities in which they operate every day are similar to those required to build and ensure the maintenance of the ship. The Group also employs many inspectors that check equipment such as cranes that are required to raise the boat during her trips to several ports. And many of our employees in laboratories test electronic goods such as the devices used on board or clothes worn by the skipper. Etc.
- Third, sea and sailing values are close to Bureau Veritas corporate values... among which are: looking for performance, leadership, team spirit and solidarity, humility, preventing and managing risks, taking care of the environment.
To end, this project aims at reaching a powerful and fruitful mix of performance and safety.
