Inspectorate Agri Acquires ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accredited Laboratory in Saskatoon, Canada

Saskatoon, SK, Canada (June 16, 2014) – Inspectorate Agri, a core part of the Bureau Veritas Commodities Division, announced today the acquisition of an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited grain analytical laboratory in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, specializing in grain inspection and testing, including grain grading, Mycotoxin analysis (Vomitoxin, Ochratoxin, Aflatoxin and Zearalenone), protein and moisture estimation, falling number analysis and insect infestation detection.

Inspectorate Agri has also opened two more new labs in Canada, one in Weyburn, Saskatchewan and one in North Vancouver, British Colombia with similar capacities to the Saskatoon facility for testing and grain inspection as well as barley germination testing. Inspection and testing services include onsite grading and inspection, vessel loading and inspection, quality and quantity certification for vessels, and rail car sampling and inspection. The new labs are also working towards the accreditation for ISO 17025 to deliver higher quality of service.

Inspectorate Agri Canada will be in position to offer support to other Bureau Veritas Agri operations globally.   With these expansions of service to the agricultural sector in Canada, Bureau Veritas Agri operations can now offer full service packages to overseas buyers of Canadian grain, to include inspection and testing at Canadian ports.

The new lab will enable Inspectorate Agri to meet the highest quality standards for an industry-leading quick turnaround time. Additionally, through the ISO 17025 accreditation, Inspectorate Agri’s testing and inspection services will meet the highest international standard in quality and accuracy, enabling customers to trade their grains with greater efficiency.
