Inspectorate Continues Expansion of LPG Sampling
and Analysis Capabilities in North America
Inspectorate, leaders
in testing and inspection for the oil and gas industry, is expanding its Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) testing capabilities in North America to meet an increasing
market demand for the analysis of propane, butane and other LPG products
developed in areas where prominent crude supply and natural gas streams exist.
The
Marcellus and Utica shale plays in the Tri-State area of Pennsylvania, Ohio and
West Virginia, have recently flourished into a large production area of LPGs and
has made up approximately 85% of the increase in natural gas production since
January 2012 as reported in the EIA’s Drilling Productivity Report (DPR). The
Utica region alone has been estimated to be producing approximately 18 times
higher than levels just two years prior. To meet the demands of this growing
industry and to ensure customer needs for LPG product inspection and testing are
met, Inspectorate expanded their offices and laboratories in: Linden, NJ; Philadelphia,
PA; and Pittsburgh, PA.
Inspectorate
has also extended its reach into the heart of the Gulf Coast refining sector through
facilities located near strategic ports and waterways covering the area from
South Texas to Louisiana. These laboratories are equipped with state of the art
LPG testing technologies and staffed by chemists trained to provide immediate
reporting and analysis solutions to customers.
“Due
to the increasing production of natural gas derived from the major shale plays
in the U.S., it is imperative for Inspectorate to have a strong local presence
to support our clients and examine the quality of their product, including
LPGs,” said, Fred Hutchings, Senior Vice President for Commodities at Bureau Veritas.
“Our testing services provide customers with
the confidence and information necessary to succeed in today’s changing global
market for top-quality LPG products"
