EU commission has released a communication towards transitional methods of measurement and calculation 2017/C 076/02 on March 2017. The communication lists the test method and test standards for different product in the regulation of (EU) No 2015/1188.

Date of entry into force: January 1, 2018
Product concerned: domestic local space heaters with a nominal heat output of 50 kW or less and commercial local space heaters with a nominal heat output of the product or of a single segment of 120 kW or less.
1. Specific ecodesign requirements for seasonal space heating energy efficiency

2. Specific ecodesign requirements for emissions
(a) From 1 January 2018 emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from liquid and gaseous fuel local space heaters shall not exceed the following values:
(i) emissions of NOx by open fronted local space heaters and closed fronted local space heaters using gaseous or liquid fuels shall not exceed 130 mg/kWhinput based on GCV;
(ii) emissions of NOx by luminous local space heaters and tube local space heaters shall not exceed 200 mg/kWhinput based on GCV.
3. Requirements for product information
From 1 January 2018, the product information on local space heaters shall be provided, generally the requirements concerned below part:
(1)The instruction manuals
(2)Free access websites of manufacturers, their authorized representatives and importers.
(3)The product packaging

There is a Technical Committee TC59X, who is working on the revision of the current standards EN 60675 and IEC 60675 to covers the characteristics and methods of measurements to fulfil new requirements with regard to the EU ecodesign regulations (EU) No 2015/1188.
