Taiwan, 19 June, 2018 – Bureau Veritas announces that we are now a WInnForum CBRS Approved Laboratory and a CBRS Alliance Authorized Test Laboratory, and we are one of the first wave laboratories to receive this qualification.
As we are entering the new 5G IoT era, "All things are connected" becomes a working reality. The rapid growth of Internet and IoT applications with a large amount of data transmission has demanded more powerful wireless data transmission efficiency and user experience enhancement. Yet, these demands are relatively limited by the shortage of wireless broadband data transmission.
The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) of the United States has granted a Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) for shared wireless broadband use in the 3.5 GHz band (3550-3700 MHz band). In accordance with the FCC Rules Part 96, equipment manufacturers need to prove their Citizens Broadband radio Service Device (CBSD) can communicate with the Spectrum Access System (SAS), allowing the equipment to operate without any limitations.
As a leading testing, inspection, audit and certification services provider, Bureau Veritas has played an important role in the certification of electrical / electronic products and wireless devices for many years. Backed by our industry recognitions and domain knowledge, we can fully support equipment manufacturers to get their equipment tested and certified in the first wave against the CBRS requirements, enabling a fast market access to North America.
CBRS Standards are produced by the Wireless Innovation Forum's Spectrum Sharing Committee (SSC). Learn more, visit https://www.cbrs.wirelessinnovation.org/
