RTN, or Rostekhnadzor,(former GGTN) is the Russian body that regulates industrial safety. Its official name is the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision. It is the only authority that can deliver the RTN Permission which is required for each technical device to be used at hazardous industrial facilities. This permission, issued in the interests of industrial safety, must be maintained throughout the life of the equipment.

    The technical passport is a collection of technical information required before RTN Permission can be issued, this document is issued for each device in a special form according to Russian standard It is also required during the life of the equipment for periodic inspections or to record any modification.

  • For how long is RTN Permission valid?

    RTN permits are valid for 3 years for imported equipment; it can be issued for a single device, for an entire line or for serial production In case of one shipment and single equipment, RTN can make a decision to issue permission for the whole life of the equipment. The 3 year RTN Permission is the chosen solution for suppliers who are tendering for a contract. It is also used to set up regular distribution in Russia.
